Good morning scouts, <br><br> <br><br> Our March campout will be a backpacking trip to beautiful Cross Timbers Trail at Lake Texoma. Since the troop has not done a traditional backpacking trip in quite a few years we will spend the next several meeting preparing for this adventure. This trip will be an appropreiate difficulty so that all scouts in the troop can participate. I also want to make sure that lack of equipment is not a barrier keeping anyone from joining us. If your scout doesnt have a backpack, tent, or other gear yet, then the OF will help him choose apppropriate equipement from our lending library of camping equipment. <br><br> Please see below for our upcoming schedule of preperatory meetings and reach out to me if you have any questions. <br><br> <br><br> February 10th: Backpacking Fitness seminar <br><br> February 17th: How to pack for a backpacking trip <br><br> February 24th: Cooking stove demonstraton and menu sampling <br><br> March 3rd: Gear shakedown <br><br> March 6th - 8th: Backpacking at Cross Timbers Trail Lake Texoma <br><br> I look forward to seeing everyone at these meetings and having a great time introducing the troop members to the joys of backpacking. <br><br> <br><br> Mr. Lunsford
