Tonight, join us for Thorns and Roses as we reflect on the great time we had on our Schlitterbahn campout. We will resume working on the Entrepreneurship merit badge by interviewing some entrepreneurs among us. Please bring notebook and something to write with. Upcoming events Trinity River Trash Bash is this Saturday morning (9/19) from 8-10 AM (arrive 7:45 AM). This is a great way to give back to our community and earn service hours. Please contact Mr. Edwards (chriswedwardsdds@gmail.com) if your son plans to attend. We will wear Class B uniforms and meet at the Crystelle Waggoner Trailhead - 3171 Riverfront Dr, Fort Worth 76107. Please bring, gloves, Troop 17 hats, water bottle and sunscreen. Coastal Campout over fall break (10/9-10/12) sign up now on the troop website! We have a special campout planned for October which requires a bit more logistical planning. oWe would like you to sign up early through the registration section of the troop website (under Members) so we have a good headcount (direct link http://www.troop17.net/link?25). Please reach out to Mr. Rekieta (kenrek4@att.net) if you do not have a login. oCampout highlights - We will camp at Goose Island State Park and spend Saturday enjoying fishing, crabbing and relaxing, plus a visit to The Big Tree (the oldest Live Oak in Texas). Then on Sunday we will head to Port Aransas for a day at the beach with swimming, fishing, boogie boarding and a stop at the souvenir shop on the way back to camp. The OF will be hosting a shrimp boil and fish fry for a couple of our dinners in camp. Monday we will pack up and head home with a BBQ lunch stop in Lockhart Texas on the way back. oThe cost for this campout will be $75. We will meet at the scout lodge to depart on the bus on Friday morning and return on Monday afternoon/evening. oIf your son doesnt have the same fall break schedule but is interested in going, please let Mr. Virden (virden@flash.net) or Mr. Nelson know (andycnelson@gmail.com).
