Welcome to the Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge (EPMB) blog. You have been subscribed based on your, or your sons interest in this Merit Badge. EPMB is an alternate Eagle Requirement in place of the Lifesaving MB. If you end up taking Lifesaving, it will count as an elective MB towards your Eagle rank. Unfortunately, the first post in this blog is a cancellation of an event. On Tuesday I mentioned an event the City of Fort Worth Emergency Management office and the Longhorn Council were putting on this weekend. This was part of the JOTA/JOTI international event. Since there were no registrations for the event prior to today, they cancelled it. JOTA/JOTI is Jamboree on the Air/Internet. If you are interested in it, check out www.longhorncouncil.org under the International Program for more info. The City does want to reschedule the event and I have volunteered to help coordinate it for the Council. As soon as we have something lined up, I will be sure to let you know.
